Facilities and services offered by the Consortium
As an internationally oriented university, the
K.U.Leuven is heir to a centuries-old tradition of
hospitality to foreigners. At present, the K.U.Leuven caters
to around 26,368 students, 8.2% of whom are international
students (from 102 nations).
To help them get settled during their first few days in
Leuven, the international student office has designed a special
orientation programme with useful tips and information, and
opportunities to meet fellow students and professors. Where
to find accommodation, how to do banking, how to register
at the city hall, where to obtain more information - all these
questions can be answered by the numerous student services
offered by K.U.Leuven.

International students enrolling for a programme taught in
English at the K.U.Leuven are given the opportunity to upgrade
their English language skills. From September until December,
the K.U.Leuven's Institute
of Modern Languages offers complementary courses. Their
aim is to improve students' knowledge of general as well as
academic English. These courses are also a useful preparation
for a successful academic career. To improve the social integration
of international students in Leuven, the Institute
of Modern Languages also offers several types of Dutch
language courses.

can guarantee student housing for all visiting students and
scholars participating in the programme. The Kringsjå
student-housing complex is only a few hundred meters from
the Norwegian School of Sport Sciences. The school can also
provide accommodation at Beitostølen Health Sport Center
(BHSC), with which the Norwegian School of Sport Sciences
has co-operated for 30 years.
During their stay, students will be able to use all university
facilities, including activity rooms, library, study halls,
computer halls, and medical and physical therapy clinics.
The university does not currently have an international office,
but the Registrar’s Office will provide students with
guidance for study-related issues and practical questions.
As students of Adapted Physical Activity, the Erasmus Mundus
students will be integrated into the university’s student
body and enjoy countless opportunities to exchange with other
current students. At the beginning of the semester, all students
are invited to a sponsored student-week, for which past Norwegian
School of Sport Sciences students organise activities to facilitate
social interactions between new and returning students from
the different study programmes.
Together with other collegiate institutions in Oslo, the Norwegian
School of Sport Sciences can offer Norwegian language courses
to Erasmus students. Erasmus Mundus students qualify for these
courses.
